Media Review 2

I went to a concert about two weekends ago that featured all the best local band in the area. Mikey, the owner of APEX Booking, decided to get every one of his favorite bands together for his birthday show. Sent by Ares, Berserker, xFriends With A Ghostx, Living Like Wolves, Upon Disfigurment, and In Alcatraz 1962 were only some of the bands that played. This was by far the best show at the Mount Airy Firehall I had been to in a long time. I left around 8 or 9 but the concert was an all night jam sesh. Apparently, everyone was getting drunk in the parking lot, smoking weed in the woods, and overall comitting a bunch of douchebagarry. The bands before I left played great. Most of the bands I mentioned above have one or two of my close friends in them, so it was a great time. Great enviroment, great music, great time. However; just a warning, if you come to these Mount Airy Firehall shows ever, prepared to get hit. People go crazy in there. And if you're gonna bitch about getting hit, then go home. :)

Media Review 1

Last night, I watched the movie Yes Man starring Jim Carey as Carl. This is a romantic comedy type deal (with much more comedy than romance) about a man who never takes opportunities or risks. In the beginning, is friends are starting to turn their backs on him, he is stuck in a dead end job, he's single, and he doesn't know what to do with himself. When he meets an old friend outside the bank where he works, Carl is persuaded to go to a “Yes” seminar. There he makes an oath to say yes whenever a chance to do anything presents itself. He doesn’t say no to anything. When a hobo asks for a ride to the middle of nowhere and for all his money, he says yes. When his friend asks him if he can start a tab at the bar and pay for all their drinks, he says yes. Somehow, something good always comes out of his actions and his life is turned around. This movie can be very serious at times but through the story Jim Carey remains as funny as always. His goofy humor and this plot go very well together. Definitely see this movie if you haven’t already.

Analysis of Media Journal

Recording every time I used media for ten days was harder than I thought. I had no idea media was that important in my life. There are so many ways to collect, share, and use information via technology; and I never really thought about how much I rely on it. I would wake up and use media right away to see if anyone had texted or called while I was asleep, or if school had been delyaed or canceled. I would check the weather some days, to see what I should wear. I would fall asleep to a television or my internet radio mostly every night. I would use my phone throughout the day; and every time I was driving my car, the radio would be on.

This is your home. This is your prison. Find the key, and you will be free.

Me and a bunch of my friends went on an adventure recently. This place is called the Audubon Sanctuary. The place we went exploring was the old abondoned farm house of the family who lived there over a hundred years ago. Its right off Old Annapolis road, right down the road from Linganore high school. This is the view we got walking up to the house.
Ill upload these pictures in the best chronological order I can. But first I want you all to see the pictures we took that turned out a little strange...

When we went down into the cellar...

We saw these orbs and odd clouds of smoke moving around in the room. We only saw them when the flash went off on the camera and in these pictures. It was also much colder down there than outside. In the middle picture notice the giant orb in the upper right...

The orbs could be light reflecting off dust particles in the air. And at first I thought the smoke was just our breath...but we held our breath to take these three pictures. And you could arguee the reason it was colder down there is because we were underground. I wasn't a beliver of sprits and all that junk before but this place had a werid feel to it. The wood in the house was burned so i assume the he farm burned down which is why the house was abandoned. Maybe someone was lost in the fire...

Here are the rest of the pictures from my adventure:
Starting with the creepy riddle in the attic...

Hello

Hey whats up guys. My name is Jeremy Muckel. So this first post is supposed to be me introducing myself to the class so I'll just make it short. I still go to high school over at Linganore High. Im taking this class and Sociology 101 at FCC this semseter just because I can't stand high school classes. I was accpeted to Salisbury University and West Virgina University and have gotten academic scholarship offers from both.... I'm still deciding where I want to go.

I'm a pretty laid back guy usually. I'm a conversationalist and I love meeting people. Im a sports fan... but then again what guy isn't. I played football up untill this last season and I still go to the gym every other day. I've played guitar for a few years now. I've been in a few bands in the last year or two playing venues in the Baltimore/Frederick area. I love jammin with people and I've been messing around on drums lately too. Other than that I'm just your typical college student tryin to get by. Hit me up!
